Last night was odd, but in a good way. I went to the modern dance review thing for my dance class. It was pretty cool and it gave Dustin and I a lot to mock afterwards. Then I started facebook messaging this guy Matt that has been my friend for a year or so but have never understood how I knew him. We facebook messaged about seven times back in forth and it still seems to be going on. Turns out we are both crazy about most of the same music. He even told me that the Brand New demos I had are for the most part not going to be on the new release. But I guess the good new is that there is even more great Brand New music to come! He also sent me a video of the band performing the song that is going to be on the new cd live. He also has offered to give me advanced copies of numerous other cds. I just might have to take him up on this. Another thing is that the guy I met on Match.com has been e-mailing me and he sent me a picture this morning because he had neglected to post one on his profile. I'm new to this whole online dating thing so that was a little scary, but much to my amazment he is a hottie. He seems really nice and he is really easy to talk to. So it seems there are options that have popped up, we'll see how it all goes. This weekend is a busy one with Wedding stuff, Founder's Day luncheon, High Museum in Atlanta, and maybe geting my hair color done (i know, i know again). Oh another wierd thing from last night was my very drunk roommate Will. Lets just say he really wanted approval of a certain body part before he would lay down and pass out like a good boy. Sometimes these guys are just crazy. Dan...don't get me started on him. This morning I got a back rub and he picked me up and threw me on the couch. He knows what he's doing, and its working.

I'm sitting in the Tate center waiting for the gate to go up in the parking lot and thus allowing myself to go home without spending money on parking. I hate how broke i've been. All of my horoscopes in the glam mags all assure me that my money troubles will soon be ending. I have complete faith in Cosmo! Anyhoo I just watched the movie "Ghost World" in my film class, and I have to say it kind of depressed me. Sometimes movies just show how mundane life can be...this boring....cycle....of decisions and consequences and loneliness. Man how depressing!! I mean i guess for the most part 99% of the people in this world are going to have less than extraordinary lives by entertainment standards...but the real thing that MUST matter (must..as in it is the only thing that puts me at ease) is that everyone has the capability of being amused and satisfied and challenged by their "ordinary" lives. After my class I rushed down to the Georgia Hall to see one of my favorite writers speak on all things cultural. His name is Chuck Klosterman, he was a writer for SPIN, and the author of three hilarious and engaging books. I think i like reading his books because, besides having wildly entertaining stories and experiences, Chuck really makes you think about how you look at things. He makes you place a value on all those crazy ideas and opinions that you have about the world around you. He is fantastic. I guess I just like reading and hearing about all of the different and original ways that people experience and perceive the world around me. It is also probably why I like biographies and "Catcher in the Rye." They make you step into someone elses head and life and kind of look at things in a way that maybe your experiences have never allowed you to. It is fucking amazing to me how many degrees there are to things.....hell NOTHING is black and white! This then got me thinking today how much I hate dichotomies! I know it is a strange thing to focus on but if you really look at the average American citizen it seems these dichotomies, these one or the others are all that they live by sometimes. I mean, in today's world people think that if you can be labeled conservative or liberal or democrat or republican that that is all they really need to know about you. I can't handle that. Maybe it is because people are just so used to the all consuming presence of the media and its quick soundbites but I really think that more people would benefit from opening themselves up to every perspective they can get their hands on and then forming their own opinion. So that is my update, i am all very warm now and worked up. But that might just be hot Tate guys sitting across from me.

Okay so as most of you know, I have a tendency to make a fool of myself. This time, however, I have out done myself! I am so mortified at the mistaken phone call to Dustin's house this afternoon. Joe probably thought I was crazy or drunk. I don't think I can ever face them without being worried that they will just think of me as that girl who mocked the Sheriff of Warren County. How in the world do I get myself into these messes. I can't even think of it without becoming flushed and a little upset. I mean don't get me wrong, it was hilarious.....but I just need a little break from coming off stupid and clutsy. I truly am just worn out!

The My Chemical Romance Concert was one of the best concerts that I have been to in a really really long time. The energy was ferociuos!! I've haven't jumped like that in a really long time. It was a good present. Hit the spot. This weekend it is really my birthday and I'm excited because Friday is Dashboard, Saturday is Downtown ATL, Sunday is Fall Out Boy etc. It is going to be a packed weekend but I think I can handle it. I also just found out Miss Elizabeth will be returning for Fall Break/Beginning of November so we all know great times are ahead. We are going to spoil her rotten. It'll be great. Now I've got to finish a paper but I will attempt to update..........again.

Okay Elizabeth you have left a legacy behind...i am now freakishly aware of the misuse of good and well on the University of Georgia campus by teachers as well as students. I hear it on tv and sometimes coming out of my own mouth. Although now i instantly realize it. Just know that your mark has been made. Current Music: Rise Against - Swing Life Away

I had a blast in Las Vegas....but I think I got more crazy the first night back in Athens...I cannot believe what happened on Thursday night, oh well I guess now I can say I had one of "those" nights during college. AJ really hooked us up in Las Vegas, it really was over the top. Zumanity was fabulous and I loved Studio 54. I am broke now but that's okay cause it was well worth it. Rae is back in town and I can just see all the fun times that are to come. Tonight I am going to Atlanta to visit Layne and go to a party with her. We should have another Monday party though to celebrate Rae's homecoming! Love ya'll byeeeee.

Last night's festivities were a lot of fun. Once again I got a lot less sleep than I should have but it was worth it. The night ended the way I usually like them to. Everyone sitting together having good conversation. Suzie, Kevin, and Allie went crazy with the fireworks but it was hilarious and kind of pretty. We need to have many more nights like that. I think the big change that most people would ask for though is more "oragami."

So ironically the day that I am reading about the attempt to ban panhandling in Atlanta, I somehow encounter a one legged panhandler in a wheel chair in residential Athens! Not only did this guy ask for money but first he asked for a ride. Yeah that's right, I wasn't walking when I was flagged down by this guy I was in my car, and what does my dumb ass do, I stop. I don't know why but I just feel like maybe they are really in trouble and may be i can really help them, but then during the interaction I am thinking well maybe he has a gun and he would like to shoot me and then I'm the one in trouble. Yeah, I'm stupid. By the way thanks to Erica who apparently had my back at a stop sign down the street.
Last night was Athfest and I had sooo much fun with Laura and Suzie. I finally heard I am the World Trade Center and thought of course that they were amazing. And that Dan guy can really move. I really liked Pylon too, to me the front lady seemed like a much older and fatter Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she was dancing her ass off. It was fun to meet up with Chucky and his friends and Dennis who we soon discovered had gone to school with Suzie. And the late night white pizza was fantastic. Suzie still owes me a dollar for my incurable(sp?) hiccups!! J/K. The roaches were pretty gross too. All in all a really fun time at my first Athfest and I am no longer as AJ commented an Athfest virgin. Fun times.
Today the extended fam comes in from Texas. It will be fun to see them, especially my grandma who always seems kind of emotional when she sees us. I hope everyone has fun tonight who is going back downtown. Dustin feel better, Elizabeth I hope i get more of a chance to hang out with you and kate. Okay enough...shower time. P.S. There was some wierd incident last night where the joke was that Will had brought home his cousin to hook up with. That poor girl.
